Βράδυ Δευτέρας κάθομαι κουρασμένη στο laptop και μπαίνω lastfm ενώ ψάχνω για μια ακόμα φορά τη διασκευή των kings of convenience στο ‘eternal’. Το μάτι μου πέφτει στους lastfm γείτονες μου, ένα όνομα κάτι μου θυμίζει και ναι, είναι γιατί έχει καλή ταχύτητα και πολύ ωραίες μουσικές οπότε είναι και στη λίστα του slsk. Χμ, ανοίγω το προφίλ και βλέπω ότι είναι κορίτσι από τις Φιλιππίνες!! Για κάποιο λόγο πάντα νόμιζα ότι είναι αγόρι αλλά αυτό είναι το λιγότερο. Το πιο κουλό είναι ότι τις τελευταίες ώρες ακούει fantastic something, ένα ελληνικό εξαφανισμένο συγκρότημα από τις αρχές των 80s, από τους οποίους εγώ έχω μόνο ένα τραγούδι και αυτή ολόκληρη δισκογραφία! Κουλό είναι επίσης ότι για πρώτη φορά βλέπω ότι έχω super compatability με κάποιον, κάτι που δεν έχει ξανασυμβεί ποτέ!
Ψάχνοντας σήμερα το πρωί ινφο για τους fantastic something πέφτω σε ένα παλιό άρθρο της m, ενώ ανοίγοντας το last fm βλέπω ότι έχω ένα friend request. Η φωτο κάτι μου θυμίζει, είναι η m.! Ξανανοίγοντας το προφίλ της s. από τις Φιλιππίνες και χαζεύοντας τους φίλους της εντοπίζω μια κοπέλα που θυμάμαι από το 2000 όταν έμπαινα στα b&s forum. Και κάπου εδώ σταματάω το διαδικτυακό ψαχούλεμα, είναι αρκετά για τις τελευταίες 24 ώρες, δεν ξέρω τι άλλο μπορεί να ανακαλύψω ;) Τώρα ή ο κόσμος είναι πολύ μικρός ή απλά περνάω πολλές ώρες στο ιντερνετ... Amazing coincidences or should I just get a life? :P

It's not of these things! It's the Philippines! I only ever moved to Athens because I had become friends with a Greek boy who was introduced to me by a common friend of ours. From the Philippines.
Oh and Fantastic Something are pretty big in these circles, over here too. And even more in Japan, I would think.
Anyway. I might be biased but I think you shouldn't get a life, the world is small and amazing. And there are people who got married because of the indiepop list, remember? I'll stop now because when I start talking about these coincidences I never stop...
i think it shouldn't be an either/or question. True we spend a lot of time online, true also that the world is small and interconnected. Not true you should get in life. Perhaps you should contact the philippino girl.

What I mean is, this is life as well, you know? We are lucky to have the internet. I've met many amazing people because of the internet, I've heard some amazing music, the important bits of my life are relying on the internet. And coincidences are the best and I am sure things are meant to happen and you should follow coincidences and turn them into pop dreams.
I'm going to lie down now, nurse.
so crazy coincidences also happen to others, that's a relief :) and sometimes all it takes is a couple of hectic days like the last two to realize that I do have a real life after all! :P
the truth is that I too have made new friends because of the internet and I loved marianthi's words 'things are meant to happen and you should follow coincidences and turn them into pop dreams', optimism and twee pop what else can one ask for? :)
I don't know if I will contact the girl from philippines, I may do, but it is definitely a small world! small and amazing I guess :)
